25 Writing Prompts for Creative Journaling

Morning ya’all.

Secondly, let’s both get our hot beverage of choice
into us before we get started. My coffee is drip-pouring out of the Aero-press right now, and my fingers are sleepy as I am typing this. Drink ur coffee, shake your body out, and then, let’s begin.

Your heart is going to resonate with certain ones of these. Trust that resonance and pick two (or more) from that category. 

Be brave, and pick one that you actively feel mad about, or don’t like, and commit to setting a timer and writing about it for 7-10 minutes. Usually, things which irritate us, or annoy us, are places in our hearts which need love and attention.

  6. If I could do anything with my life right now, reguardless of money, location and familial commitments I would:

  8. I only have 10 minutes, these are the things I need to remember to write about:

  9. Pick 10 words, then set a timer for 10 minutes and write a paragraph using all of them.

  10. My favorite actions of self love are:

  11. How I wish I was loved romantically are:

  12. 12 things I love doing because they make me happy:

  13. Pick a quote. Have it resonate with your current life situation, set a five minute timer after you write it at the top of your page and journal about why this quote matters.

  14. Pick another quote. Instead of writing about it, put it on a fresh page in your journal and spend 10 minutes really illustrating the quote so it looks beautiful to you.

  15. List all of the reasons you think writing will effect your life. Come up with 10 reasons minimum, and go u til you run out of reasons.

  16. Fear. List all the things you’re afraid of. Set aside 30 minutes for this one. At the end, reread them and see if there’s anything you can do about some of them to let them go.

  17. Dreams. What do you dream of? What do you want to dream about? Make a list of 10 big dreams you want to accomplish in your lifetime.

  18. Dreams continued: pick one of your dreams that seems currently achievable and write down the three next steps towards having it become a reality.

  19. Don’t write at all. Go pick up a physical book and read for 15 minutes.

  20. List all the reasons you’re an awesome writer. Come up with 5 minimum, and go until you feel you’ve listed them all.

  21. Shadow work. What’s the shadow work you’ve already done this year? List three things and what that work did to change your perspective.

  22. Vulnerability. Where do you feel vulnerable right now?

  23. Inspiration. Write about the last time you felt giddy and inspired. What were you doing?

  24. Outfits! Write about an outfit you have that you utterly and completely love. Why do you love it? When did you get it? How do you feel when you wear it?

  25. Outfits continued: If you were a protagonist in a novel- what would your aesthetic be? What clothes would you wear, what colors would you choose? What accessories would you give yourself? What would your environment look like? Be lavish with yourself.
